Named after the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haji, Tunku Putra School was set up by Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB) in 1996 as the first international school in Sarawak. 20 year later, the School has grown to over 600 students.

In March 2018, CMSB collaborates with the HELP Education Group and Ibraco Berhad, to embark on an exciting journey in educational growth by establishing the Tunku Putra-HELP School.

The purpose-built campus in the Northbank, Tabuan Jaya, capable of accommodating up to 1,500 students, was built to provide an enriched learning environment that nurtures young minds. Currently, the school proudly welcomes students and staff from over 20 different nationalities reflecting its diverse and inclusive community.

In 2024, the School has grown to more than 800 students.
